Introduction
Our Client, a leader in the Food Service and Distribution Industry, is seeking to hire a Warehouse Operations Manager to join their team in New Germany (Durban, KZN).
The suitable candidate will:
- Supervise the receipt, dispatching and storage of merchandise in the warehouse
- Oversee picking, storage, receiving, dispatching, security, maintenance, sanitation, and administrative functions
- Oversee, train, evaluate and reward staff
- Ensure the maintenance of company assets
Duties & Responsibilities

- Oversee receiving, warehousing, distribution and maintenance operations
- Setup layout and ensure efficient space utilization
- Initiate, coordinate and enforce optimal operational policies and procedures
- Adhere to all warehousing, handling and shipping legislation requirements
- Maintain standards of health and safety, hygiene and security
- Manage stock control and reconcile with data storage system
- Liaise with clients, suppliers and transport companies
- Plan work rotas, assign tasks appropriately and appraise results
- Recruit, select, orient, coach and motivate employees
- Produce reports and statistics regularly (IN/OUT) status report, dead stock report etc)
- Receive feedback and monitor the quality of services provided
Desired Experience & Qualification
- Grade 12 (Matric)
- BS degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management or Business Administration
- Proven work experience as a Warehouse Manager preferably in the FMCG market
- Expertise in warehouse management procedures and best practices
- Proven ability to implement process improvement initiatives
- Strong knowledge of warehousing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Hands-on experience with warehouse management software and databases
- Leadership skills and ability to manage staff
- Strong decision making and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Full understanding of HR functions and best practices
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Must be available to work extended hours
- No Criminal record
Package & Remuneration
R20 000 per month
