Introduction
Our Client, a leader in the Chemical Industry, has a vacancy for a Quality Supervisor based in Amanzimtoti, Durban. The key focus of the role is to administer and manage the site’s EHS systems, ensuring the company products exceed customer expectations.
Duties & Responsibilities
Quality Assurance and Control
- Responsible for personal health and safety and that of others.
- Implement, monitor, and review quality procedures.
- Conduct rigorous Quality Risk Assessments (QRA) and implement gap closure.
- Implement review of ISO systems with EHS practitioner.
- Develop and manage raw materials, packaging, and finished goods specifications.
- Conduct quality inspections to ensure adherence to quality specifications.
- Implement and manage quality management of change (QMOC) process.
- Control all quality of raw materials, packaging and finished goods and engage with shop floor to ensure adherence to quality targets.
- Work with production team to sample and test raw materials, packaging and finished product, ensuring samples reach destinations on time.
- Work with shop floor to segregate WIP, failed product and goods production.
- Investigate internal and external quality complaints and implement required corrective actions (RCA), and reports (CAR).
- Issue Certificates of Analysis and or conformance (CoA/C) timeously.
- Manage safe keeping and disposal of samples and paper records.
- Manage calibration and verification of all quality instrument and equipment.
- Conduct (new) vendor audits with other key site personnel for approval.
Human Resources
- Identify and review training needs of workers relating to quality.
- Coach workforce on all quality expectations.
Other
- Work with SHE Practitioner to improve SHEQ activities.
- Manager SHEQ KPIs with SHE Practitioner.
- Attend all management meetings as required.
- Stand in for SHE Practitioner when not on site.
Desired Experience & Qualification
- Grade 12 (Matric) certificate.
- National Diploma in Industrial Engineering or BTech Quality Management.
- At least 3 (Three) years of experience in coordinating SHEQ or Quality Control.
- At least 3 (Three) years of experience in internal auditing of ISO Systems e.g. ISO 9001.
- Fully conversant on 14001 and 45001.
- Must be a self-starter and team player.
- Must be assertive and quality driven.
