Introduction
Our Client, a leader in the Manufacturing Industry, seeks to appoint an experienced Production Supervisor and or Line Supervisor. Applicants need to reside in and around the Cape Town area only.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Facilitate departmental procedures, which in turn enhance production and efficiency of the department.
- Guide machine-running and problem-shooting.
- Support safety policies and procedures.
- Implement, oversee, and control production schedules.
- Check production output according to specifications.
- Submit reports based on performance and progress.
- Supervise, review, and revise crew schedules (if required).
- Oversee and review time and attendance of staff, as well as leave approvals.
- Monitor and regulate staffing needs to ensure optimum staffing levels support business demands.
- Collaborate with management for preparation of non-call schedule.
- Coordinate after-hours emergency crews and work as required.
- Ensure efficient collaboration and coordination between departments for job completion.
- Practise good housekeeping at all times to ensure a safe and non-cluttered worksite.
- Participate and demonstrate an understanding of safety principles and practices.
- Follow all safety policies and procedures, including safe operations of machines and equipment.
- Proactively communicate job site conditions.
- Provide excellent customer service.
Desired Experience & Qualification
- At least 2 (two) years of experience in a leadership role.
- Able to plan programs and applications such as JDE or OMNI (advantageous).
- MS Excel and Word-Intermediate.
- Ability to work in a team or independently.
- Able to work under pressure to meet specific timelines.
- Ability to operate Bagmake and pouch machine (advantageous).
- Proven experience as Production Supervisor in a specific industry.
- Proven ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
- Be self-motivated with a results-driven approach.
- Knowledge of health and safety standards.
- Knowledge of business and management principles and practices.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Understanding of customer service and principles (OTIF).
- Willing to work evenings, shifts, on-call, and weekends when required.
- Valid driver’s license.
- No criminal record.
