Introduction
Our Client, a leader in the FMCG Industry, is seeking to appoint an experienced Production Manager to join their dynamic team.
Duties & Responsibilities
Ensure that the milling process delivers consistently high-quality products in line with required specifications by:
- Adapt processes as required to optimise milling efficiencies and product quality.
- Control process variations to ensure product quality.
- Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to ensure continuous operations in the value chain.
- Ensure cost-effective raw material management by:
- Understand the gristing challenges of the raw materials in the delivery pipeline.
- Optimise the extraction in line with the product quality required.
- Monitor stock levels in line with milling plans and demand.
Ensure high-performance culture in the production team by:
- Build and motivate capability through competency-based selection.
- Training and development, coaching, mentoring, and performance management.
- Effective communication.
- Lead and participate in Invocoms and meetings as needed.
- Ensure good discipline and accountability.
- Establish good working relationships with union representatives.
- Ensure a conducive and safe working environment according to the Client’s way.
- Ensure full statutory and regulatory compliance to all health and safety and food safety requirements in line with the Client’s standards and SOP’s by ensuring training of relevant personnel, audits, and corrective action of all findings in collaboration with the risk function.
- Ensure the best cost production through planning, organising, and managing the function in line with the agreed expense budget and resource plans.
To ensure continuous improvement of the production process and function through:
- Ensuring a culture of learning and continuous improvement in Invocom.
- Perform route cause analysis when needed and ensure corrective action with relevant stakeholders.
- Drive continuous improvement of production processes based on the feedback from the quality and the production team and do internal and external benchmarking from time to time.
- To ensure optimal plant asset management through implementing timeous corrective and preventative maintenance in accordance with company SOPs and maintenance system.

- Grade 12 (Twelve).
- Food safety requirements (FSSC 22000) – Intermediate.
- Supervisory and Management principles and practices – Intermediate.
- Financial acumen to support planning, budgeting, and cost controls – Intermediate.
- Performance management principles – Intermediate.
- Disciplinary and grievance management process requirements – Intermediate.
- Health, Safety, Environment, and Risk Management principles pertaining to industry – Intermediate.
- Continuous improvement processes – Basic (Desirable).
The following Job-Related Skills are essential for this position:
- MS Office (With Excel) – Intermediate. Calculations (efficiencies) – Intermediate.
- Performance management skills – Intermediate.
- Analytical thinking and problem-solving – Intermediate.
- Internal FS Auditing – Intermediate.
- Budgeting, costing, and cost control – Basic.
The following Experience & Qualifications are essential for this position:
- Qualified Miller SAGMA/ GMF or equivalent.
- Manufacturing Academy Certificate or Leadership and or Management Certificate equivalent.
- Advanced OSHACT certificate.
- LSS Greenbelt.
- Lean Champion (Desirable).
