Introduction
Our Client, a leader in die Hospitality Industry, has a position available for a Maintenance Supervisor in Tshwane, Gauteng.
Duties & Responsibilities
The main purpose of the position is to maintain the standards of the facility, and to create a safe, comfortable and unique experience for all guests that visit our facility.
- Admin and Finance
- Purchasing of required materials by following the purchase procedure.
- Storage of materials in allocated storerooms and the safekeeping thereof, minimising losses.
- Issuing of the required material to staff and contractors as required.
- Safekeeping and upkeep of maintenance equipment.
- Adhering to all applicable HR policies.
- Assisting with the administration of Health and Safety in the department.
- All tasks as instructed by the Maintenance Manager related to OHS mst be adhered to and carried out accordingly.
2. Preventative Maintenance Program
- Maintaining progress reports and providing feedback on outstanding issues.
- Liaising and ensuring that contractors are conducting the tasks, meeting the set standards and outcome of the contract.
- Collecting service reports from contractors for Health and Safety purposes.
- Scheduling of staff and contractors to work according to the demands of various projects and the day-to-day maintenance programs.
3. Operations
- Collecting information of job cards and or work required from reception, housekeeping and management (Maintenance Book and or Project Maintenance Program).
- Recording of maintenance and repair work performed and materials used to complete the work.
- Obtaining parts, supplies, and equipment from storerooms.
- Using tools ranging from common hand and power tools, such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills and wrenches, to precision measuring instruments and electrical and electronic testing devices.
- Assembling, installing and or repairing pipe systems and plumbing, machinery and equipment,
- Repairing counters, benches, partitions and other wooden structures such as sheds and outbuildings.
- Painting and repairing roofs, windows, floors, woodwork, plaster, drywall, and other parts of building structures.
- Assembling, installing and or repairing wiring, electrical and electronic components, machinery and equipment.
- Completing tasks as indicated in the Preventative Maintenance Program and on the required standard.

Desired Experience and Qualification
- Grade 12 (Twelve) certificate (essential).
- Formal qualification (refrigeration, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting and general maintenance) is essential.
- Trade Test (desirable).
- Minimum of 2 (Two) years of experience as Maintenance Assistant (essential).
- Minimum of 1 (One) year of experience in a hotel environment.
- Minimum of 1 (One) year of experience in a supervisory role.
- Knowledge of the use of tools and the maintenance thereof.
- Project Management.
- Working knowledge of the following: Plumbing, Electrical, Painting, Carpentry, and Air-conditioning.
- Skilled in the following: General Maintenance Procedures, Preventative Maintenance Operations, and General Handyman.
- Ability to manage a team as well as processes.
- Project planning and workflow management.
- Bilingual with good communication skills.
- Guest-orientated: Meet and exceed guest needs and expectations.
