Introduction
Our Client, a leader in the manufacturing industry, is recruiting for Machine Builder to join their team based in Bellville South, Cape Town.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Define the system architecture, own and implement specific components, and help shape the overall experience.
- Read and analyze mechanical and electrical prints of material to plan equipment build.
- Assemble mechanical and electrical components according to specifications using proper tools and verifying conformance of parts.
- Fits and assembles components according to assembly blueprints, manuals, engineering memos, sketches, and knowledge of machine construction to construct.
- Perform final test and checkout of final assembly.
- Installation of tubing, hoses, and bending of pipes for the hydraulic and pneumatic systems of the machines.
- Documents the mechanical assembly steps and measurements in assembly protocols.
- Works with start-up technician to adjust pressure settings and machine alignment.
- Helps loading and unloading of the machines from the trucks.
Desired Experience & Qualification
- Must have Grade 12 or equivalent qualification.
- Must have at least 5 (five) years of experience working in a factory environment.
- Must have Spray painting experience.
- Must have Machine building background.
- Knowledge of electrical and hydraulics.
- Building of conveyors.
- Having worked with steel and aluminum will be advantageous.
- Must be able to work in a team.
- Must be able to use electrical equipment such as Drill, Grinder, and Tap Machine.
- Must be able to use measuring equipment such as vernier, angle protractor, squares, and spirit levels.
- Must be able to assemble gearboxes, pulleys, sprockets, chains, conveyors, and bearing fitment.
- Know the different types of sheet metal (mild steel, stainless steel, and aluminum).
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Good communication skills.
- Have no criminal record.
- Must have own transport (essential).
- Know all fasteners and bolts.
- Must be healthy and fit.
- Must be safety conscious.
