Introduction
Our Client, a leader in the Food Service and Distribution Industry, has a vacancy for a Junior Electrician / Driver at their New Germany branch in Durban.
Duties & Responsibilities
- General assistance to the electrician including work on installations, inspections, diagnosing faults, testing, repair, and maintenance of electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures
- Assisting in general electrical work and preparation as directed by the Line Manager to assist with storage, lifting, fetching supplies, unload and checking deliveries
- Undertaking general tasks to assist the Electrician
- Assisting to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair; to ensure compliance with agreed codes, law, working practices, and health and safety
- Liaising with line manager and other site workers and performing jobs as and when they are required., in accordance with agreed requirements and within agreed time limits
- Working using your own initiative within agreed roles – do not wait to be asked
- Ensure compliance to agreed codes, legislation, and procedures including health and safety
- Maintain accurate worksheets and records/documentation associated with your work
- Immediately report problems/failures that may impact on the organisation and/or its clients/customers or which you think may affect health and safety to the Line manager
- Adhere to all organisational Policies and Procedures, including those relating to hygiene, respect for other team members, timekeeping, and flexibility
Desired Experience & Qualification
- Grade 12 (Matric) Certificate
- Certificate in Electrical Engineering
- At least 2 or more years experience as an Electrician
- Must have a drivers license (Code 10) with PDP
- Microsoft Office Package
- Management skills
- Organizational skills
- Customer Service and good verbal communication skills
- Problem-solving skills
- Ability to work under pressure
- Work shifts and long hours
- Customer service orientated
- No criminal record
