Introduction
Our Client, a leader in the Logistics Industry, seeks to employ a Fleet Controller to join their dynamic team. Applicants must reside in and around the Cape Town area.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Track vehicle locations and schedules using GPS systems and logistics software.
- Communicate with drivers, warehouse staff and clients to ensure timely efficient delivery of goods.
- Assist field service staff with the movement of vehicles into a suitable safe working area and in sourcing of spare parts to ensure speedy repairs.
- Manage motor vehicle cost reports for finance.
- Ensure the fleet policy is up to date with current legislation.
- Plan and coordinate the daily activities of drivers.
- Maintain accurate records of vehicle maintenance.
- Create and maintain fleet files.
- Ensure all vehicle maintenance checks are up to date.
- Ensure final costs are submitted as required within a timely manner.
- Monitor driver performance and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Ensure efficient booking of vehicles are completed.
- Management and interrogation of costs relating to damage, fines and repairs.
- Responsible for day-to-day operations of vehicle maintenance, service and repairs.
- Assigns vehicles to drivers.
- Manages accident reports.
Desired Experience & Qualification
- Grade 12 (Twelve).
- At least 2 (Two) years of experience in the Logistics or Transportation Industry.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of logistics operational procedures.
- Proficiency in logistics software and GPS tracking systems.
- Good problem-solving skills.
- Must have exceptional analytical and organizational skills.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Attention to detail.
- Accuracy in record-keeping.
- Clear criminal record.
