Introduction
Our Client, a leader in the Manufacturing Industry, is seeking to appoint an experienced Electrical and Instrumentation Technician to join their dynamic team in KZN.
Duties & Responsibilities
Maintenance and repairs to all equipment
- Electrical, Instrumentation and electronic repair and maintenance of all machinery within the factory.
- Fault finding and rectification on Electrical and Instrumentation systems.
- Strong knowledge of Siemens and Lenze Variable Speed Drives and PLC’s.
- Strong knowledge of Siemens and Lenze PLC programming and fault-finding.
- Fault-finding and analysis of machine condition and electronic component failures.
- Perform routine tests of electrical and instrument equipment, and control system as per procedures and schedules.
Preventative Maintenance
- Maintaining electrical circuits and wiring of machines.
- Maintenance and repair of Instrumentation, Electrical, Electronic and Control equipment across all departments.
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills within the factory’s electrical control and automation sectors.
- Electronics experience including Variable Speed Drive fault finding and repairs down to component level.
- Design electrical control circuits and updating drawings for new and existing machines.
- Provide E and I technical and specialist support to the maintenance and production team.
Industrial Safety
- Keeping abreast of technical developments in all fields.
- Maintaining machine regulations.
- Abide by all safety regulations.
- Being available for Call Outs and overtime work
- Being available to work week-ends.
Desired Experience & Qualification
- Trade Certified in the relevant Electrical or Electronic fields.
- N6 or T4 Qualification or equivalent in Electrical Engineering.
- Siemens Drives and PLC courses will be an advantage.
- Able to work in a team.
- Able to work independent.
- Analysing and problem solving.
- Knowledge on industrial machines (experience in paperbag manufacturing and printing would be advantageous).
- Ability to repair Drives & Drive components (will be advantageous).
- Sound knowledge of Siemens and Lenze PLC’s and VSD’s.
- Sound knowledge of Hydraulics and Pneumatics.
Package & Remuneration
Market-related.
