Introduction
One of our leading Clients in the Warehousing Industry, is seeking to appoint a Consumable Controller to join their dynamic team in Durban, KZN.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Place orders for consumables and monitor all stock levels for the same.
- Maintain records both on a WMS and or TMS system and on Excel spreadsheets where needed.
- Monitor deliveries and orders by receiving stock and confirming quantities.
- Issue stock per upon operational request.
- Ensure all stocks allocated are utilised and any not utilised, are returned and recorded accordingly.
- Ensure accurate and concise records are kept at all times.
- Conduct stock counts – weekly or monthly – on all consumable items
- Finalise creditors’ invoices for submission to accounts and or admin, and maintain PO vs Invoice schedules monthly.
- Record carry-over PO’s to the new month.
- Record departmental allocations for utilising and issuing .
Desired Experience & Qualification
- Matric – Grade 12 (Twelve) is essential.
- Minimum 2 (Two) to 3 (Three) years of experience in a Warehousing environment.
- Good knowledge and understanding of Microsoft Word and Excel, especially Excel, with spreadsheet understanding and compiling ability.
- Excellent command of the English language (both written and verbal) is essential.
- The ability to multi-task and work under pressure.
- The ability to follow specific instructions and guidelines, and follow processes and procedures in detail with no deviations.
- Strong ability to pay attention to detail and focus amongst a busy environment.
- The ability to work independently and prioritize workload and requirements.
- Must be an organised person.
- Must be able to enforce and follow SOP’s for the accurate control of consumables.
- Think out of the box and identify problems and take the initiative to investigate and solve queries with the assistance of the Supervisor when needed.
- Good understanding of a WMS system is essential (WeThink or Streamline would be advantageous).
- Procurement experience is hugely advantageous.
- Ability to work shifts – Day shift and Night shift.
- Available to work weekends as and when required.
Package & Remuneration
R12 000.00 CTC
