Introduction
Our Client, a leader in the Hospitality Industry, is seeking to appoint an experienced Canteen Supervisor to join their dynamic team in Umhlanga, KZN. Applicants must reside in and around the Umhlanga area.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee the preparation of meals to ensure excellent service delivery standards are maintained.
- Coordinate the daily operation of the site canteen and oversee the preparation of food and counter services.
- Identify stock requirements and place orders if required.
- Participate in regular stock take, recording, and reporting processes.
- Maintain accurate and appropriate records for the canteen and associated catering operations, including orders, receipt of stock, and associated documentation.
- Deliver a quality service to customers.
- Ensure food storage and handling is appropriate,
- Oversee canteen staff.
- Oversee cash handling and related security processes.
- Operate a cash register, collect monies and balance funds at the end of the day.
- Ensure and maintain the hygiene of the premises.
- Other duties as required.
Desired Experience & Qualification
- Grade 12 (Twelve).
- 2 (Two) to 3 (Three) years of experience as a Supervisor.
- At least one year Catering experience, i.e., must have worked as a Supervisor, Chef, or Cook in a Catering environment, like a restaurant.
- Able to adapt to a changing work environment.
- Must be Computer literate.
- Must have good, contactable references.
- Good interpersonal skills, and the ability to work in a multi-cultural environment.
- A willingness to learn and grow within the company.
- Exceptional customer service and supervisory skills.
