Introduction
Our Client, a leader in the Catering and Hospitality Industry, seeks to employ a Canteen Site Manager to join their dynamic team. Applicants must reside in and around the Port Elizabeth area.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the profitable management and operation of the site canteen by the company’s policies and procedures. The successful candidate will be able to
- readily associate and assimilate with and within the company’s culture and various brands,
- show leadership skills and temperament that creates an environment of service and product excellence, and
- develop strong relationships within the company and with our clients.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Managing and overseeing prepping of meals to ensure excellent service delivery standards are maintained.
- Canteen must be managed in such a way as to ensure its financial autonomy, i.e., effective and efficient record-keeping of transactions and relevant financial documents.
- Identify opportunities to drive organisational cost-savings.
- Transportation of meals between sites.
- Efficient management of inventory.
- Supervise the canteen staff.
- Ensuring the hygiene of the premises.
- Timeous submission of payroll data.
Desired Experience & Qualification
- (3) Three years of management experience.
- (1) One year’s food experience, i.e., have worked as a manager or chef/cook in a food establishment.
- Can adapt to changing work environments.
- Can manage food costs and GPs and know how to influence them.
- Computer savvy with Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, and with working on management platforms.
- Have good references.
- Have good interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a multicultural environment.
- A willingness to learn and grow within the company.
- Exceptional customer service and management skills.
