Introduction
Our Client, a leader in the Hospitality Industry, is seeking to appoint an experienced Canteen Site Manager to join their dynamic team. Applicants must reside in and around the Pietermaritzburg area.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the profitable management and operation of the site canteen by the company’s policies and procedures. In addition, the successful candidate will be able to readily associate and assimilate with and within the company’s culture and various brands, show leadership skills with a temperament that creates an environment of service and product excellence, and develop strong relationships within the Company and with our Client.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Managing and overseeing prepping of meals to ensure excellent service delivery standards are maintained.
- Managing the canteen in such a way as to ensure its financial autonomy, i.e., effective and efficient record-keeping of transactions and relevant financial documents.
- Identifying opportunities to drive organisational cost-savings.
- Transporting meals between sites.
- Efficiently managing inventory.
- Supervising the canteen staff.
- Ensuring and maintaining the hygiene of the premises
- Submitting payroll data timeously.
Desired Experience & Qualification
- Grade 12 (Twelve) Certificate.
- At least three years of management experience.
- One year’s food experience, i.e., has worked as a manager, chef, or cook in a food establishment.
- SANHA approval letter is essential.
- Adapt to changing work environments.
- Manage food costs and GPs and know how to influence them.
- Computer savvy with Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, and with working on management platforms.
- Have good references.
- Have good interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a multicultural environment.
- A willingness to learn and grow within the company.
- Exceptional customer service management skills.
Package & Remuneration
Negotiable, depending on experience.
