Introduction
A successful, growing business within the Fast Food Sector, is seeking to appoint an experienced Bookkeeper to support the Finance team.
Duties and Responsibilities
The successful incumbent will be responsible for fulfilling the business’s bookkeeping function effectively.
Duties and responsibilities include but are not necessarily limited to the following:
- Maintaining records of financial transactions by establishing accounts and posting transactions accurately.
- Ensuring compliance with legal requirements and company policies.
- Reconciliation and balancing of accounts.
- Generating accurate financial statements (trial balance, income statement, balance sheet).
- Checking and verifying source documents such as invoices and receipts.
- Preparing financial reports by collecting, analysing, and summarizing account information and trends.
- Tracking and maintaining inventory records.
- Managing accounts payable and accounts receivable.
- Preparing payments.
- Calculating and preparing VAT submissions and payments.
- Assisting with budget preparation.
- Assisting with audits.
- Maintaining a complete filing system to support financial records.
Desired Experience and Qualification
- Matric (Grade 12) is essential.
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Bookkeeping or Accounting.
- A minimum of 3 (Three) years of experience in a similar role.
- Must be computer literate (Microsoft Word and Excel is essential).
- Experience with Xero Accounting Software is required.
- Effective planning and management skills.
- A dynamic, proactive, trustworthy, and hardworking individual.
- Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
- Detailed-oriented.
