Notice to Embark on Protest Action – COSATU 2 December 2022
RE: Protest Action
- COSATU will call upon all workers to support a socio-economic protest by engaging in various forms of protests.
- The forms of protest actions and actions in contemplation of the strike will involve:
- Protests in a form of marches and pickets on 2 December 2022
- Two-hour pickets from 12:00 to 14:00 in the build-up to the national march on the 2nd December 2022
- The specific activities above will take place during working hours
- The socio-economic strike will commence at 00.00 and end at 23.59 on 2 December 2022, except that shift workers will be away for the duration of one whole shift, and it will be the shift that has the majority of hours on the day in question
3. Following the socio-economic strike on 2 December 2022, the Federation will assess the programme of action and decide on the way forward. The Federation reserves the right to extend the programme of action should it be necessary.
