Please refer to the below extract from the UIF National Disaster Benefit Claim Process.
Again, the criteria to claim the Disaster Benefit are as follows:
If (COVID-19) ill:
- Apply for sick leave, once sick leave is depleted,
- Apply for normal leave, once depleted,
- Unpaid leave will apply, and the individual needs to apply for the UIF Disaster Benefit (refer to UIF Claim Process Flow- attached).
If Client shuts down, or in part and the Assignee is to take compulsory leave:
- Apply for normal leave, once depleted,
- Unpaid leave will apply, and the individual needs to apply for the UIF Disaster Benefit (refer to UIF Claim Process Flow- attached).
